The game didn’t load the mod. Check these in order:
  1. EasyAntiCheat is off. Turn it off in the game’s launcher and choose Run & Save as default. Mods with their own code don’t load while it’s on.
  2. The folder is Mods\Refined-Graphics, with ModInfo.xml directly inside it. A zip unpacked into one more folder, such as Mods\Refined-Graphics\Refined-Graphics, isn’t found. The game’s log has a line starting [MODS] for every folder it tries.
  3. The mod is made for 7 Days To Die V3.2. A different game version may not load it.
Another mod added a row to the game’s Video page that the Refined - Graphics tab can’t show. The game’s Video tab comes back so you can still reach that row. The log names it.
  • Another visual mod may already change the same thing. The Other Visual Mods line on the General tab names it.
  • The row may be greyed out because a game option it builds on is off. Press Apply after you change that option.
  • A setting with the “applies when a world loads” sign needs a new world load, or a restart.
  • Hold the compare key in a world. If the picture changes, the effect works; it may only be subtle.
If another visual mod changes what one of our effects changes, that effect starts switched off. Switch it on again if you want both. The list of mods we know shows which effects.
On the General tab, look at Total Performance Impact and Most Impact. Switch off the effects that cost the most, or choose the Fixes preset. The Off preset gives you the game as it is.
Hold the compare key in a world, or choose the Off preset. If the problem stays, it isn’t a Refined Graphics effect.
Press Defaults on the General tab. To reset everything by hand, close the game and delete settings.txt in %APPDATA%\7DaysToDie\Refined\Graphics. The file holds only what you changed.
The game writes it to %APPDATA%\7DaysToDie\logs. Paste that into the File Explorer address bar and take the newest file. Our lines start with [Refined.Graphics]. Warnings are yellow and errors red in the game’s console, which opens with F1.
