# General settings

> Every Refined - Graphics setting on the General tab: what it does, its unit, range and default.

These are the rows on the **General** tab of **Options > Refined - Graphics**. The game's own options on the same tab are not listed here.

## Presets

| Setting | What it does | Range and unit | Default |

| **Comfort Settings**<br />`comfort.reductions_choice` | Turns down camera motion and screen flashes in every Refined Graphics effect that has them, on top of the preset. The options it changes stay adjustable on their own tabs. | One of `off`, `on` | `off` |

## Compare Key

| Setting | What it does | Range and unit | Default |

| **Compare Key**<br />`compare_key.key_choice` | In a world, this key shows the game's own look in place of Refined Graphics', as Compare Key Mode sets. | Any key or mouse button | `backslash` |
| **Compare Key Mode**<br />`compare_key.mode_choice` | Hold: the game's look while the key is held. Toggle: one press shows it, the next brings Refined Graphics back. Blind Test: the two looks as A and B in random order; tap the key to switch, hold it to choose, and your choice is saved. | One of `hold`, `toggle`, `blind` | `hold` |
| **Effect to Compare**<br />`compare_key.effect_choice` | The effect the compare key shows the game's look for: all effects at once, or one. | `all`, or the key of one effect, for example `clarity_ao` | `all` |

## Live Preview
